New Leadership Announced at SIOR’s Spring World Conference in Austin
April 13, 2018—WASHINGTON, DC— The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® (SIOR), which represents the world’s elite in industrial and office brokerage, today announced its 2019 officers. The elections were held during SIOR’s Spring World Conference currently taking place in Austin, TX.
“Congratulations to each of the SIORs who have been elected as officers for the 2019 term,” said Del Markward, SIOR Global President. “In my term as President, I have been fortunate to spend time with many members and chapters across the country, and those interactions have reinforced that SIOR is truly made up of the most elite professionals in our industry. I have no doubt that this next group of officers will honor our reputation and serve proudly.”
The elected officers will be installed in October prior to the SIOR Fall World Conference in Denver, CO.
Along with the new class of officers, Robert G. Thornburgh, SIOR, CCIM, CPM, of Los Angeles, CA, will assume the role of SIOR Global President. Since earning his SIOR designation in 2005, Robert has held a number of leadership positions within the organization. Along with his current role as President-Elect, Robert also serves as Membership Coalition Council Chair and previously served as Chair of the Communications and Branding Committee.
Current SIOR Global Vice President Mark Duclos, SIOR, of Hartford, CT, will assume the role of President-Elect and serve a one-year term before becoming Global President. Patrick Sentner, SIOR, of Pittsburgh, PA, has been elected as Vice President for 2019.
To support the SIOR leadership, the following members were elected to serve on SIOR’s Board of Directors as Members-at-Large:
- Dennis Hennessy, SIOR, Syracuse, NY; and
- Mark Long, SIOR, Kansas City, MO.
Elections were also held for Regional Directors for the following regions, who will serve a two-year term overseeing SIOR Chapters within their region. Newly elected Regional Directors are:
- Central Regional Director- Michael Carlson, SIOR, St. Louis, MO;
- Mid-Atlantic Regional Director- Michael Capobianco, SIOR, Allentown, PA;
- Northwest Regional Director- Vanessa Herzog, SIOR, Tacoma, WA;
- Southeast Regional Director- Hank Martin, SIOR, Memphis, TN;
- Southwest Regional Director- Bruce Hecht, SIOR, Dallas, TX.
In addition, David Schiller, SIOR, Buffalo, NY will be serving the first year of a two-year term as Speaker of the Chapter Leadership Council, and John Adams, SIOR, Knoxville, TN was elected Speaker-Elect of the Council.
